Head outside the museum and over to the 19th-century Smith Farm to meet our flock of heritage-breed sheep and goats. Brett Bannor, Manager of Animal Collections, will demonstrate how agile they can be, hopping up on a barrel and following instructions in hopes of earning a special peanut treat. Learn about their daily routines and the distinct personalities of the Gulf Coast sheep – Gulliver, Samson, Daisy, and Maribelle, plus our Angora goats, Claud and Dorothy.

If you’d like Brett to sign his book, American Sheep: A Cultural History (available in our gift shop), you’re welcome to bring it along. Capacity is limited, reserve your spot now!
