Come to this remarkable EXHIBIT highlighting the Liberty and Freedom ethos of captive people in colonial America.
Their Force for Freedom rang with sacred power & truth made self evident—a wonderful Revolution well before the Civil War
& Declaration of Independence.
The drum led revolt from Stono, SC, to Savannah into the hinterlands of FL, started an ongoing plantation-routing cycle of African and Native people—rejecting the onerous plots of dispossession & chattel slavery.
With wide screen monitors, kiosks, sound dome, multiple banners, booklets, participatory performances, etc., this exhibition promotes reading, education, and literacy as forces of self determination and social transformation—with music as a knowledge and creative invitation!
Participatory music by the Creatively Maladjusted Players + Drumfolk Shout & Music Society!
